Özet

Obezite tedavisinde endoskopik intragastrik botulinum toksini (BtXA) uygulaması, cerrahi yöntemlere göre daha az invaziv, geri dönüşümlü ve güvenli bir alternatif olarak öne çıkmaktadırMide duvarına yapılan enjeksiyonlar, asetilkolin salınımını engelleyerek mide boşalmasını geciktirmekte, iştahı azaltmakta ve ghrelin hormonu seviyelerini düşürerek kilo kaybına yardımcı olmaktadırBilimsel çalışmalar, özellikle antrum ve fundus bölgelerine yapılan çoklu enjeksiyonların üç ile altı ay süresince anlamlı kilo kaybı sağladığını ve yan etki oranının oldukça düşük olduğunu göstermektedir.
