Özet

Periodontal hastalıklar, dünya genelinde sık görülen, sadece ağız sağlığını değil kardiyovasküler sistem, diyabet ve romatoid artrit gibi çeşitli sistemik hastalıkları da etkileyen karmaşık enflamatuar durumlardır. Bu hastalıkların etyolojisinde genetik yatkınlık, kötü beslenme, sigara kullanımı ve hijyen eksikliği gibi çevresel faktörler rol oynamakta olup, sitrülinizasyon süreci ve immün sistem dengesizlikleri patogenezde kritik öneme sahiptir. Tedavi yaklaşımı, sadece lokal müdahalelerle sınırlı kalmayıp, bütüncül tıp prensipleri çerçevesinde bağırsak florasının düzenlenmesi, beslenme alışkanlıklarının iyileştirilmesi ve sistemik inflamasyonun yönetilmesini gerektirir. Erken teşhis ve doğru tedavi protokolleri, hem oral hem de genel sağlığın korunmasında hayati rol oynamaktadır.

 

Periodontal diseases are prevalent, complex inflammatory conditions that significantly affect not only oral health but also systemic well-being, with links to cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and rheumatoid arthritis. The etiology involves a combination of genetic susceptibility and environmental factors such as poor nutrition, smoking, and hygiene, where citrullination and immune system imbalances play a critical role in pathogenesis. Effective management requires a holistic approach that extends beyond local interventions to include gut flora regulation, dietary improvements, and the control of systemic inflammation. Early diagnosis and comprehensive treatment protocols are essential for maintaining both oral and overall systemic health.
