Simulation Training (ST) offers a risk-free, safe, and reproducible learning model in anesthesia and intensive care practice, particularly in areas such as crisis management, airway management, and obstetric anesthesia. Compared to traditional educational methods, ST is critically important in reducing perioperative deaths and complications caused by human error and organizational deficiencies. Pioneered in Turkey by centers like SİMMERK®, this educational model facilitates the translation of laboratory knowledge into clinical practice, enhances teamwork, and boosts practitioners' self-confidence. Especially in high-skill techniques like epidural anesthesia and ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia (UGRA), ST helps residents build a mental map of spinal anatomy, feel the resistance of different layers, and minimize risks such as dural puncture. It also streamlines training in advanced airway management, CPR, and emergency surgical procedures using realistic anatomical models. Despite disadvantages like high system costs, technical maintenance challenges, and a shortage of trained instructors, simulation supported by post-training feedback (debriefing) has become an integral part of medical education. When combined with traditional didactic methods, the effectiveness of ST increases further, enhancing clinicians' individual skills and directly improving patient safety.
