Epilepsy is a chronic condition that shapes the lives of individuals and their families through seizures, long-term medication use, and psychosocial impacts. In disease management, patient and family education is as critical as medical intervention for seizure control and adaptation. Quality of life is affected by factors such as seizure frequency, drug side effects, and social prejudices, but it can be improved through educational programs. While behavioral problems and declines in academic achievement may be observed in school-age children, informing teachers is essential for the child's social acceptance and treatment adherence. During adolescence, the desire for independence and the need to integrate with peer groups become prominent; in this process, the adolescent's active participation in treatment and family support are decisive in overcoming psychosocial issues. Sports activities should be encouraged for self-confidence and physical health, provided that necessary precautions are taken. In professional life, despite high unemployment rates caused by lack of information, individuals with epilepsy can be successful in many fields, excluding certain risky occupations. Anxiety and overprotectiveness within the family should be managed by educating and supporting all family members. Consequently, correct intervention during seizures, regular medication use, and social awareness are the main elements determining the quality of life with epilepsy.
