Rapid Hospital Discharge in Vascular Surgery
Özet
This text details the application of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols in vascular surgery, designed to achieve rapid hospital discharge, enhance patient safety and comfort, and reduce overall healthcare costs. The successful implementation of these clinical protocols spans across the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases of patient care. Preoperatively, patients receive comprehensive counseling, prehabilitation through exercise and respiratory physiotherapy, smoking cessation support, and targeted nutritional optimization to improve tissue healing. Furthermore, maintaining strict glycemic control is shown to significantly reduce surgical wound infections. During the intraoperative phase, the clinical protocols emphasize selecting anesthesia techniques that facilitate rapid awakening, utilizing regional anesthesia, administering targeted fluid therapy, and actively preventing perioperative hypothermia to avoid serious recovery complications. Postoperatively, the clinical focus shifts to encouraging early mobilization, introducing timely oral intake, and establishing multimodal management of pain and nausea. Minimizing opioid consumption through alternative analgesics, such as acetaminophen, effectively prevents nausea while ensuring adequate pain control. Ultimately, adopting a multidisciplinary approach across all phases of vascular surgery ensures patients meet discharge criteria sooner, thereby lowering medical expenses.
