Özet

Bu çalışma, kanser tedavisinde kritik bir rol oynayan radyoterapi sonrasında normal dokularda gelişen akut (ilk 3 ay) ve kronik (6 ay sonrası) advers olayların/toksisitenin değerlendirilmesi amacıyla geliştirilen uluslararası puanlama sistemlerini incelemektedir. Tedavinin temel hedefi tümör kontrolünü maksimuma çıkarırken normal dokuları korumak olup, oluşan yan etkileri raporlamada ortak bir klinik dil oluşturmak büyük önem taşır. Bu amaçla geliştirilen WHO, EORTC/RTOG, CTCAE ve doku hasarını subjektif, objektif, yönetimsel ve analitik olarak dört kategoride detaylandıran LENT/SOMA derecelendirme sistemleri, yan etkilerin şiddetini hafiften ölüme kadar (Grade 1-5) sınıflandırarak radyasyon onkologlarının günlük pratiklerinde toksisiteyi doğru yönetmelerini ve merkezler arası veri standardizasyonunu sağlar.

This study reviews international scoring systems developed to evaluate acute (first 3 months) and chronic (after 6 months) adverse events/toxicity in normal tissues following radiotherapy, a critical modality in cancer treatment. The primary goal of therapy is maximizing tumor control while sparing normal tissues, making a standardized clinical language essential for reporting side effects. For this purpose, grading systems like WHO, EORTC/RTOG, CTCAE, and LENT/SOMA—which details tissue damage across subjective, objective, management, and analytic categories—classify toxicity severity from mild to fatal (Grades 1-5), enabling radiation oncologists to effectively manage side effects and ensure data standardization across centers.
