Vitamin supplementation is a vital intervention for critical patients in intensive care units who face high malnutrition risks, significantly reducing morbidity and mortality rates. Deficiencies in vitamins C, D, A, and the B complex lead to weakened immune systems and increased complications like sepsis or multi-organ failure, thereby extending hospital stays. Specifically, the replacement of antioxidant vitamins and thiamine at appropriate doses enhances survival chances by reducing oxidative stress and improving organ functions.
