Özet
Vitaminler, vücutta sentezlenemeyen ve metabolizmanın sağlıklı işleyişi için dışarıdan alınması zorunlu olan temel mikro besin öğeleridir. Özellikle B, D, E ve C vitaminlerinin eksikliği; bilişsel fonksiyonlarda gerileme, oksidatif stres ve nöro-inflamasyon üzerinden depresif semptomların gelişimi veya şiddetlenmesiyle ilişkilendirilmektedir. Mevcut araştırmalar vitamin takviyelerinin, özellikle eksiklik durumlarında antidepresan tedaviye güvenli bir destek sağladığını ve risk altındaki bireylerde koruyucu etki gösterebileceğini ortaya koymaktadır.
Vitamins are essential micronutrients that cannot be synthesized by the body and must be obtained through diet to ensure proper metabolic functioning. Deficiencies in vitamins B, D, E, and C are linked to the development or worsening of depressive symptoms through mechanisms such as cognitive decline, oxidative stress, and neuro-inflammation. Current research indicates that vitamin supplementation, particularly in cases of deficiency, provides a safe supportive treatment to antidepressants and may offer protective effects for individuals at risk.
