Disturbances in the homeostasis of B12 and D vitamins, along with trace elements such as iron, zinc, and copper, play a critical role in the development and progression of neurological diseases. Vitamin deficiencies and trace element accumulations lead to impaired myelin synthesis, increased oxidative stress, and neuronal damage, which are associated with conditions like Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and epilepsy. It is emphasized that nutrition and antioxidant-rich diets have protective effects against these neurodegenerative processes, and monitoring micronutrient levels is clinically significant for early diagnosis and tracking disease progression.
