Nucleotide excision and DNA repair disorders are autosomal recessive conditions resulting from a failure in DNA damage repair mechanisms, leading to increased chromosomal instability and cancer predisposition. This group includes Cockayne syndrome, trichothiodystrophy, and xeroderma pigmentosum, all of which exhibit significant neurological involvement affecting both the central and peripheral nervous systems. Given their genetic etiology, these disorders necessitate early identification and the implementation of comprehensive supportive management strategies.
