Uyku Bozuklukları ve Baş Ağrısı
Özet
Baş ağrısı ve uyku bozuklukları, birbirlerini karşılıklı olarak tetikleyebilen ve çocuklarda yaşam kalitesini ciddi ölçüde düşüren, sıklıkla birlikte görülen iki önemli klinik durumdur. Obstrüktif uyku apnesi, insomnia, parasomniler, narkolepsi ve bruksizm gibi uyku sorunları, migren ve gerilim tipi baş ağrılarının ortaya çıkmasına veya atakların şiddetlenmesine neden olabilir. Bu nedenle, baş ağrısı şikayetiyle başvuran çocuklarda ayrıntılı uyku öyküsü alınması ve altta yatan uyku probleminin saptanarak tedavi edilmesi, baş ağrısının yönetimi için zorunludur.
Headaches and sleep disorders are frequently co-occurring clinical issues in children that share complex bidirectional relationships and significantly impact overall well-being. Various sleep conditions—such as obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, parasomnias, narcolepsy, and bruxism—can trigger migraine and tension-type headaches or exacerbate their frequency and intensity. Consequently, conducting a detailed sleep assessment is essential for children presenting with headaches, as treating the underlying sleep disturbance is often critical for effective headache management.
