The acute management of intracranial hypertension syndrome (ICP) primarily focuses on mitigating symptoms and complications, protecting brain function, and addressing the underlying etiology. Treatment strategies begin with supportive care, such as maintaining airway patency, optimizing oxygenation, and stabilizing blood pressure. If initial measures prove insufficient, advanced interventions including hyperosmolar therapy, surgical decompression, and barbiturate infusions are utilized based on clinical necessity. Successful management requires a structured, tiered approach followed by the gradual tapering of therapies once stability is achieved.
