Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) is a diagnosis of exclusion characterized by elevated intracranial pressure without identifiable structural causes, predominantly affecting obese women of childbearing age. The primary clinical manifestations include headaches, vision problems, and papilledema, making early diagnosis and ophthalmological monitoring essential. Weight loss is the cornerstone of treatment, while medications and surgical interventions are utilized in selected, severe cases to manage pressure and preserve visual function.
