Özet

BECTS, çocukluk çağında başlayıp ergenlik döneminde kendiliğinden düzelen, fokal nöbetlerle karakterize iyi huylu bir epilepsi sendromudur. Tanı klinik özellikler ve tipik EEG bulgularına dayanır; hafif vakalarda izlem yeterliyken sık nöbetlerde antiepileptik tedavi gerekebilir. Genellikle iyi seyirli olmasına rağmen, hastalarda bazen dil, bilişsel fonksiyonlar ve davranışsal sorunlar gözlenebilir. Bu nedenle, hastaların düzenli takibi ve kişiselleştirilmiş tedavi yaklaşımları büyük önem taşır.

 

BECTS is a benign focal epilepsy syndrome that typically emerges in childhood and remits spontaneously by adolescence. Diagnosis relies on clinical manifestations and characteristic centrotemporal spikes on EEG, with antiepileptic treatment reserved for more frequent or disruptive cases. While generally possessing a favorable prognosis, some patients may experience developmental, cognitive, or behavioral comorbidities. Therefore, careful monitoring and personalized management are essential for optimal patient outcomes.
