Nonconvulsive status epilepticus (NCSE) is a clinical condition characterized by electrographic seizure activity and impaired consciousness without prominent motor symptoms, requiring high clinical suspicion for diagnosisWhile Salzburg EEG criteria are used for identification, the variability and non-specific nature of clinical symptoms often delay diagnosis, particularly in pediatric patientsThe condition is classified into coma-associated and non-coma-associated types, with management strategies tailored to the underlying etiology using benzodiazepines and appropriate antiepileptic therapy.
