Neonatal Status Epileptikus
Özet
Neonatal status epileptikus, diğer yaş gruplarından farklı etiyolojik ve nörofizyolojik özelliklere sahip, yenidoğan yoğun bakım ünitelerinde sık karşılaşılan acil bir nörolojik durumdur. Tanı aşamasında video EEG altın standart olarak kabul edilirken, tedavi sürecinde öncelikle altta yatan metabolik nedenlerin düzeltilmesi ve hızlı nöbet kontrolü hedeflenir. Yenidoğan beyninin immatür yapısı nedeniyle geleneksel tedavilere karşı direnç gelişebilmekte ve bu durum kalıcı nörolojik sekellere yol açabilmektedir.
Neonatal status epilepticus represents a critical neurological condition in newborns, distinct from other age groups due to its unique neurophysiological and developmental features. Diagnosis relies primarily on video EEG monitoring, as clinical signs are often obscured by encephalopathy or pharmacological suppression. Treatment prioritizes stabilizing vital functions and addressing underlying etiologies, though immaturity in the neonatal brain frequently complicates traditional anti-epileptic therapy. This condition carries a significant risk of long-term developmental impairment, requiring careful, protocoled management of the seizure burden.
