Reflex anoxic seizures are benign paroxysmal events characterized by bradycardia and cerebral ischemia due to vagal stimulation, usually triggered by stimuli such as pain or fear. Although symptoms like pallor, muscle stiffness, and loss of consciousness during these attacks are often confused with epilepsy, there is no underlying epileptic process. Obtaining a detailed history is vital for diagnosis, and clinical observation is generally sufficient; therefore, the unnecessary initiation of antiepileptic drugs should be avoided. The primary focus of treatment is to clearly explain to the family that the condition is benign and not an epileptic disorder.
