Özet

Postural ortastatik taşikardi sendromu (POTS), kronik ortostatik intoleransın bir formu olup özellikle çocuk ve adölesanlarda sık görülür. Dik pozisyona geçildiğinde ortaya çıkan çarpıntı, baş dönmesi, yorgunluk ve egzersiz intoleransı gibi semptomlarla karakterizedir. Patofizyolojisinde otonomik dengesizlik rol oynar ve nöropatik, hipovolemik veya hiperadrenerjik gibi farklı alt gruplara ayrılır. Tedavide öncelik yaşam tarzı değişiklikleri ve tuz/su takviyesiyken, dirençli vakalarda çeşitli farmakolojik seçenekler değerlendirilir.

 

Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) is a chronic form of orthostatic intolerance that frequently affects children and adolescents. It is characterized by symptoms like palpitations, dizziness, fatigue, and exercise intolerance when transitioning to an upright position. The pathophysiology involves autonomic dysfunction, categorized into various subtypes such as neuropathic, hypovolemic, or hyperadrenergic. Management primarily focuses on lifestyle modifications, including increased salt and fluid intake, with pharmacological treatments reserved for refractory cases.
