Standardized classification systems such as ICSD-3, DSM-5, and ICD-10-CM are essential for the systematic diagnosis and clinical management of sleep disorders. ICSD-3 serves as the primary framework, encompassing seven major categories and over 60 specific diagnostic criteria. These systems establish a universal medical language that facilitates accurate differential diagnosis across pediatric and adult populations. Implementing these structured approaches ensures reliable assessment and effective treatment planning within the field of sleep medicine.
