Özet

Çocuklarda uykuyla ilişkili solunum bozuklukları, özellikle obstrüktif uyku apne sendromuna (OUAS) odaklanarak solunum sisteminin uyku sırasındaki işlevsel bozukluklarını kapsamaktadırAdenotonsiller hipertrofi, anatomik anomaliler ve obezite gibi faktörler bu durumun başlıca nedenlerini oluştururken; nörodavranışsal, kardiyovasküler ve metabolik ciddi komplikasyonlara yol açabilmektedirPolisomnografi temel tanı aracı olarak kullanılır ve erken müdahale, gelişebilecek ikincil yapısal ve sistemik bozuklukların önlenmesinde kritik öneme sahiptirTedavi stratejileri, altta yatan yapısal bozukluklara göre adenotonsillektomi, ortodontik girişimler veya konservatif yöntemlerle belirlenmektedir.

Sleep-related breathing disorders in children, specifically Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome (OSAS), encompass various dysfunctions of the upper airway during sleepUnderlying factors such as adenotonsillar hypertrophy, anatomical abnormalities, and obesity drive these conditions, which can lead to significant neurobehavioral, cardiovascular, and metabolic complicationsPolysomnography serves as the primary diagnostic tool, and early intervention is critical to mitigating long-term morbidity associated with the conditionManagement strategies are tailored to the specific etiology, often involving adenotonsillectomy, orthodontic interventions, or weight management protocols.
