Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP) is an immune-mediated neurological disorder characterized by progressive or recurrent motor and sensory deficits affecting peripheral nerves and roots. While the condition can occur at any age, childhood cases typically show a better prognosis compared to adults. Diagnosis primarily relies on clinical assessment, specific diagnostic criteria, and electrodiagnostic studies to identify demyelination. Effective management involves immune-modulating therapies such as IVIG and corticosteroids to suppress the immune response and prevent long-term axonal damage.
