Özet
Santral sinir sisteminin fungal enfeksiyonları, bakteriyel veya viral etkenlere kıyasla daha nadir görülse de, özellikle bağışıklığı baskılanmış bireylerde ciddi klinik tablolara yol açabilir. Mayalar, filamentöz mantarlar ve dimorfik türler; menenjit, beyin apsesi veya vasküler komplikasyonlar gibi çeşitli formlarda ortaya çıkabilir. Tanı aşamasında hastanın risk faktörlerinin değerlendirilmesi ve mikrobiyolojik testler kritik rol oynarken, tedavi süreci uygun antifungal ajanlar ve gerektiğinde cerrahi müdahale ile yönetilir.
Fungal infections of the central nervous system, though less common than bacterial or viral causes, present serious clinical risks, particularly in immunocompromised individuals. Pathogens including yeasts, molds, and dimorphic fungi can manifest as meningitis, brain abscesses, or various vascular complications. Accurate diagnosis relies on assessing specific risk factors and conducting microbiological testing, while management involves targeted antifungal therapy and potential surgical intervention.
