Özet
Mikoplazmalar, özellikle Mycoplasma pneumoniae, insanlarda merkezi sinir sistemi (SSS) enfeksiyonlarına yol açabilen ve genellikle solunum yolu belirtileriyle ilişkili olan küçük bakterilerdir. Nörolojik hasarlar, doğrudan doku hasarı, otoimmün mekanizmalar veya vasküler tutulum gibi çeşitli patogenezlerle gelişebilir ve ensefalit, menenjit gibi klinik tablolara neden olabilir. Tanı genellikle zorlu bir süreç olup, tedavi seçenekleri arasında sistemik antibiyotikler, immünoglobulinler ve kortikosteroidler yer alsa da, kesin bir fikir birliği henüz sağlanamamıştır.
Mycoplasmas, particularly Mycoplasma pneumoniae, are small bacteria that can cause central nervous system (CNS) infections in humans, often associated with respiratory symptoms. Neurological damage can develop through various pathogenic mechanisms, including direct tissue injury, autoimmune responses, or vascular involvement, leading to clinical conditions such as encephalitis and meningitis. Diagnosis is typically a challenging process, and while treatment options include systemic antibiotics, immunoglobulins, and corticosteroids, a definitive consensus has not yet been established.
