Neurobrucellosis is a multisystemic condition caused by Brucella bacteria, often transmitted through the consumption of unpasteurized dairy products or contact with infected animals, which specifically affects the nervous system. The clinical presentation encompasses various neurological complications such as meningitis, encephalitis, and cranial nerve palsies, requiring clinical suspicion alongside laboratory testing and imaging for accurate diagnosis. Due to the intracellular nature of the pathogen, management relies on long-term combination antibiotic therapy. While the prognosis is generally favorable with appropriate treatment, timely intervention is essential to prevent permanent neurological sequelae.
