Infections such as bacteria, viruses, and parasites can significantly impact the central nervous system through direct or indirect mechanisms. This review examines the neurological effects of HIV infection and sepsis-associated encephalopathy, which are critical causes of morbidity and mortality, particularly in children. Early diagnosis and appropriate treatment strategies play a vital role in managing these clinical conditions and reducing long-term neurological complications.
