Hydatid cyst is a parasitic disease typically caused by Echinococcus larvae, which can affect various organs, most commonly the liver and lungs. Although rare, cerebral and spinal involvement can occur, leading to significant neurological symptoms depending on the location of the cysts. The primary treatment method is surgical excision, which must be performed carefully to avoid cyst rupture and associated anaphylactic reactions. Medical therapies, particularly albendazole, are frequently utilized as adjuncts to surgery to prevent recurrence and manage the disease effectively.
