Nistagmus
Özet
Nistagmus, gözlerdeki istemsiz ritmik hareketler nedeniyle görme keskinliğinde azalmaya yol açan ve genellikle infantil (doğumsal) veya edinsel olarak sınıflandırılan bir patolojidir. İnfantil nistagmus genellikle oküler kökenli olup zamanla iyileşebilirken, edinsel tip ciddi nörolojik hastalıkların veya sistemik sorunların habercisi olabileceği için dikkatle incelenmelidir. Tanıda detaylı anamnez, fizik muayene ve radyolojik görüntüleme yöntemleri kritik rol oynarken, tedavi süreci hastanın durumuna göre ilaç kullanımı, optik düzeltmeler veya cerrahi müdahalelerle planlanmaktadır.
Nystagmus is a condition characterized by involuntary rhythmic eye movements that result in reduced visual acuity, typically classified as either infantile (congenital) or acquired. While infantile nystagmus is often ocular in origin and may improve over time, the acquired type requires careful investigation as it can signal serious underlying neurological or systemic disorders. Diagnosis relies heavily on detailed anamnesis, physical examination, and radiological imaging, while the treatment process is tailored to the patient through medication, optical corrections, or surgical interventions.
