Balance relies on the integration of visual, vestibular, and somatosensory inputs, a process that matures throughout childhood. Dizziness and vertigo in children, while often underdiagnosed or mistaken for adult conditions, frequently stem from diverse etiologies including genetic syndromes, otologic infections, and neurological disorders such as migraines. Accurate diagnosis requires a thorough clinical history and detailed assessment, as improper identification can lead to significant delays in management. Early detection of specific triggers and underlying pathologies is crucial for addressing both the immediate vestibular symptoms and potential long-term impacts on development.
