Malnutrition and imbalances in nutrient intake directly impact neurotransmitter synthesis and brain function, leading to serious neuropsychiatric conditions such as depression, cognitive impairment, and neurological damage. Deficiencies in essential nutrients, particularly B vitamins, vitamin D, omega-3 fatty acids, and various minerals, cause lasting negative effects on mental health and cognitive development. Addressing these nutritional deficiencies is critical for both the prevention and management of these psychiatric and neurological disorders.
