Deficiencies or imbalances of trace elements and minerals can disrupt metabolic processes, leading to significant pathological effects on the neurological system. Disruptions in the homeostasis of essential elements such as iron, selenium, zinc, copper, and iodine can trigger clinical conditions, including neurodegeneration, cognitive impairment, and loss of motor function. Early diagnosis and appropriate mineral supplementation are critical for managing these trace element-related neurological disorders and improving patient prognosis.
