Nazal Anatomi

The nose is an organ of great functional and aesthetic importance, and its anatomy is examined in two main parts: external and internal. The external nasal anatomy consists of the superficial fatty, fibromuscular, deep fatty, and periosteum/perichondrium layers beneath the skin, whose thickness varies by region; its movement is provided by the m. nasalis, m. procerus, and m. depressor septi nasi muscles innervated by the facial nerve. The cephalic part of the pyramid-shaped external structure of the nose consists of bone, while the caudal part is formed by the upper lateral, alar, and septal cartilages. Internal anatomy consists of the vestibule, nasal cavity, septum, and lateral wall. The nasal septum is composed of membranous, cartilaginous, and bony structures that divide the cavity into two from the midline. While the roof of the nasal cavity is formed by the nasal, frontal, ethmoid, and sphenoid bones, there are three conchae on the lateral wall: superior, middle, and inferior. The blood supply of the region occurs via the branches of the internal and external carotid arteries (sphenopalatine, greater palatine, ethmoidal arteries); its venous drainage is toward the pterygoid plexus, ophthalmic, and facial veins, which are related to the cavernous system. Finally, nasal innervation is provided by the n. olfaktorius for the sense of smell, the ophthalmic and maxillary branches of the trigeminal nerve for pain and touch, and the Vidian nerve, which combines autonomic fibers originating from the facial nerve.
