This chapter details the anatomy of the pelvic bony structure, muscles, perineum, and genitourinary system. The pelvic skeleton is formed by the articulation of the right and left os coxae with the sacrum and coccyx posteriorly, and its cavity is the downward continuation of the abdominopelvik cavity. Divided into pelvis major and pelvis minor based on the linea terminalis, the inferior opening of this region is closed by the diaphragma pelvis, formed by muscles such as m. levator ani and m. coccygeus, with the region below this structure named the perineum. The perineum is divided into urogenital and anal triangles, housing muscles like m. obturator internus and m. piriformis that laterally rotate the thigh, as well as specific muscle groups facilitating erectile functions and sphincter controls, including m. bulbospongiosus, m. ischiocavernosus, and m. sphincter ani externus. Within the genitourinary system, retroperitoneal kidneys maintaining electrolyte and water balance, ureters transporting urine to the bladder with three constrictions, the muscular urinary bladder storing urine, and the urethra opening externally are examined. While the male genital system comprises internal and external organs including sperm-producing testes, epididymis, ductus deferens, vesicula seminalis, prostate, Cowper's glands, and penis, the female genital system encompasses the vulva, vagina, uterus as the womb, tuba uterina where fertilization occurs, and ovaries, with detailed explanations of the vascular supply and innervation of all these organs.
