Nausea and vomiting are common pediatric symptoms that result from various biological pathways and triggers, ranging from infections to neurological issues. Effective management in primary care relies on a detailed patient history and physical examination to distinguish self-limiting conditions like gastroenteritis from "red flag" emergencies requiring immediate referral. Treatment strategies include non-pharmacological approaches such as dietary adjustments and hydration with oral rehydration solutions, alongside cautious pharmacological interventions for severe cases. Ultimately, a patient-centered approach that combines clinical expertise with family education ensures the successful management of these multifaceted symptoms in children.
