Senkop
Syncope is defined as a transient loss of consciousness due to temporary cerebral hypoperfusion, characterized by a rapid and spontaneous recovery. This text explores the various etiological classifications of syncope, including reflex, orthostatic hypotension, and cardiac causes, while specifically addressing situational and neurodegenerative factors common in elderly patients. Highlighting the vital role of medical history and clinical findings in diagnosis, it emphasizes the importance of differential diagnosis to distinguish syncope from similar conditions like epilepsy and psychogenic pseudosyncope.
