This study examines the effects of TikTok, which has rapidly gained popularity especially among children and adolescents, on mental health. Standing out with its easy video editing and personalized algorithm structure, the platform reinforces intense screen use and the need for gratification. However, this increasing use brings serious risks such as depression, anxiety, stress, memory loss, cyberbullying, eating disorders, and hypersexualization. Furthermore, the rapid spread of disinformative content on the platform that simulates or misleads about psychological disorders such as Tourette's syndrome and ADHD can trigger the development of functional tics in children, leading to mass sociogenic illnesses. In this context, to prevent disinformation, it is recommended that mental health professionals actively produce accurate information on platforms and that social media literacy be increased in society.
