Servikal Travma: Zamanla Yarış

Özet

Trafik kazası sonrası servikal vertebra kırığı ve hafif kafa travması ile acil servise getirilen 29 yaşındaki erkek hastada, takip sürecinde üst ekstremitelerde kuvvet kaybı ve santral kord sendromu gelişmiştirHastaya acil müdahale olarak önce posterior laminektomi, ardından stabilizasyon için posterior lateral mass füzyonu ve anterior diskektomi operasyonları uygulanmıştırCerrahi girişimler ve dört aylık fizik tedavi sonrası hastanın genel mobilizasyonu düzelmiş, yedi yıllık takip sonunda sağ koldaki kısıtlı kuvvet kaybı dışında kalıcı bir nörolojik sekel gözlenmemiştirBu vaka, nörolojik olarak stabil görünen travma hastalarında bile yoğun bakım takibinin ve gelişebilecek komplikasyonlara karşı hızlı cerrahi müdahalenin hayati önemini vurgulamaktadır.

A 29-year-old male patient presented with cervical vertebral fractures and mild head trauma following a traffic accident, subsequently developing upper extremity weakness and central cord syndrome during observationThe patient underwent an emergency posterior laminectomy, followed by posterior lateral mass fusion and anterior discectomy for stabilization once the necessary surgical equipment was securedFollowing surgery and four months of physical therapy, the patient achieved mobility, with no permanent neurological deficits remaining after seven years of follow-up, except for persistent weakness in the right armThis case highlights the critical importance of intensive care monitoring and rapid surgical intervention for trauma patients, even those who initially appear neurologically stable.
