This text is a scientific chapter authored by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yeliz Eratlı Şirin that comprehensively examines the relationship between entrepreneurship and sports. Explaining the historical development of the entrepreneurship concept since the 18th century through the contributions of thinkers such as Richard Cantillon, Jean Baptiste Say, and Joseph Schumpeter, the study defines an entrepreneur as an individual who takes risks, introduces innovations, plans, and captures opportunities. The factors determining individuals' entrepreneurial tendencies are detailed across personality traits (need for achievement, internal and external locus of control, risk-taking propensity, tolerance for ambiguity, innovativeness, and self-confidence), demographic factors (family background, gender, and age), and the socio-cultural environment (social interaction and education). The text analyzes the concept and core elements of social entrepreneurship, which offers sustainable solutions to societal issues, while explaining sport-based entrepreneurship through the dynamics of innovation, proactiveness, and risk-taking. Categories of sports entrepreneurship are classified into community-based, corporate, ethnic, international, social, technology, and women's entrepreneurship, with practical social enterprise examples such as "Kızlar Sahada" highlighted. Finally, focusing on the future of sports entrepreneurship, the strategic importance of intra-industry network structures, knowledge creation processes, and internal-external environmental factors in the sustainable growth of the sector is emphasized.
