Özet

Afet ve acil durumlarda, özellikle çocuklar, yaşlılar ve gebeler gibi risk gruplarında görülebilecek malnütrisyonun önlenmesi için beslenme durumunun hızlı ve etkin bir şekilde değerlendirilmesi hayati önem taşımaktadır. Bu süreçte tıbbi öykü alımı, fiziksel muayene, diyet değerlendirmesi ve biyokimyasal analizlerin yanı sıra vücut kitle indeksi ile orta üst kol çevresi gibi pratik antropometrik ölçümlerden yararlanılmaktadır. Beş yaş altı çocuklardaki akut malnütrisyon yaygınlığı, tüm popülasyonun beslenme durumuna dair temel bir gösterge olarak kabul edilerek insani yardım stratejilerinin belirlenmesinde yol gösterici olmaktadır.

 

Accurate assessment of nutritional status is vital during disasters and emergencies to prevent malnutrition, especially among vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and pregnant women. This process utilizes medical history, physical exams, and dietary assessments alongside practical anthropometric measurements like Body Mass Index and Mid-Upper Arm Circumference. The prevalence of acute malnutrition in children under five serves as a primary indicator for the entire population's nutritional health, guiding the effective distribution of humanitarian aid.
