Pandemi Sürecinin Sağlık Çalışanlarının Ruh Sağlığı Üzerine Etkisi .
Özet
COVID-19 pandemisi en ön saflarda mücadele eden sağlık çalışanlarının ruh sağlığı üzerinde ciddi olumsuz etkiler yaratmıştır. Bu süreçte artan ve yoğunlaşan çalışma saatleri, virüs kapma ve yakınlarına bulaştırma endişesi, yetersiz ekipman gibi faktörler stres düzeyini artırırken sosyal damgalanma ve izolasyon da ruhsal yükü ağırlaştırmıştır. Çalışmalar sağlık çalışanlarında tükenmişlik sendromu, depresyon, anksiyete, insomnia, travma sonrası stres bozukluğu ve intihar eğilimlerinin önemli ölçüde yükseldiğini göstermektedir. Özellikle kadın cinsiyet, genç yaş, hemşirelik mesleği ve ön saflarda çalışma gibi durumlar bu riskleri tetikleyen temel faktörler arasındadır. Tükenmişlik sendromu iş yeri kaynaklı kronik stresin iyi yönetilememesiyle ortaya çıkmakta; hem çalışanın yaşam kalitesini düşürmekte hem de tıbbi hatalara yol açarak hasta güvenliğini tehdit etmektedir. Pandemi sonrasında da devam eden bu krizle mücadele edebilmek için düzenli egzersiz ve aile desteği gibi bireysel yöntemlerin yanı sıra iş yükünün azaltılması, koruyucu ekipman tedariki ve ruh sağlığı hizmetlerine kolay erişim gibi kurumsal ve sistematik önlemlerin alınması hayati önem taşımaktadır.
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused serious negative effects on the mental health of healthcare workers fighting on the front lines. During this period, factors such as increased and intensive working hours, anxiety about contracting the virus and transmitting it to relatives, and inadequate equipment increased stress levels, while social stigma and isolation also aggravated the mental burden. Studies show that burnout syndrome, depression, anxiety, insomnia, post-traumatic stress disorder, and suicidal tendencies have significantly increased among healthcare professionals. In particular, female gender, young age, the nursing profession, and working on the front lines are among the primary factors triggering these risks. Burnout syndrome occurs when workplace-induced chronic stress is poorly managed; it both reduces the quality of life of the employee and threatens patient safety by causing medical errors. To combat this crisis, which continues even after the pandemic, individual methods such as regular exercise and family support, as well as institutional and systematic measures like reducing workload, providing protective equipment, and facilitating easy access to mental health services, are of vital importance.
